Boomerang was named by his breeder's children due to the boomerang shaped mark on his side. He is out of a cremello TWH mare who is out of an old line of TWH called "Gold Bond" and a black/white TWH stallion. He has very interesting coloration and markings. In the bright sunlight you can see the dapples of cremello/palimino that he got from his dam and he is usually buckskin colored although at certain times of the year almost looks black roan. He has lots of chrome and black points - very striking boy!
I bought Boomer as a two year old from idiot people that had him in a double twisted wire snaffle bit and a huge guy riding him. I was able to track down his breeder and she had lost him in a sale to a woman who lied and assured her he wasn't going to an auction. Needless to say she was relieved to know I have him. I think most breeders of dogs and horses feel a responsibility for what they produce. It was great to learn about his sire and dam as that gave me insights into some of his behavior. I basically restarted him and it wasn't long before I could ride him bareback with a halter and lead line. I have judged dogs, run dogs in trials and put a lot of trail miles on this boy. He is a very willing horse and I feel confident about putting anybody on him. He has taught many people to ride and ride correctly. I don't know why people think they have to use heavy, medieval armor for tack on their horses to control them. Just bond with them, show them what you want and understand that they will work for you if you establish trust. As a gaited horse it is really fun to get him up into his gait. There is nothing like feeling a horse's back rounding up underneath you as they pick up that walking horse gait. Of course all my horses are kept barefoot and trimmed regularly by a farrier with decades of horsemanship and expertise in proper hoof health and angles.
